Jody Watley continues to shed her dance diva image with her
latest release "Flower.” The new set features slow and uptempo
grooves that delve into the trials and tribulations of relationships.
The music on “Flower,” mainly written and produced by Jody,
soars with smooth and relaxing beats. Jody’s vocals have also
matured very nicely on this set. She doesn’t even sound like
the same woman who brought us the hit dance tracks “Looking
For A New Love” and “Don’t You Want Me.” And that may be
the reason why Jody 's last couple of albums haven’t sold as well
as her initial solo releases. But "Flower" definitely has a spark
that deserves lot of attention. -- Desireia Valteau
