Jody Does Spectacular Performance on BET's Planet Groove
Jody's 2 hour live performance on BET's Planet Groove was nothing short of spectacular. It was an energetic, soulful and passionate performance in which she showcased her best vocals yet. Jody performed two of her classics "Still A Thrill" and "Don't You Want Me", but in a more jazzed-up format.

She then went on to perform five songs from her upcoming "Flower" CD. Included were "Loving You So", "Flower", "Everything You Do", "Just One More Time", and "Off The Hook." Along side Jody were two of her dancers, who can also be seen in the remix video for "Off The Hook." In the band was Derrick Edmonson, who had produced most of the songs from Jody's "Affection" CD.

Jody was also interview by Planet Groove's Rachel, and disclosed a lot about what she has been thru since she left MCA Records. Jody disclosed that although she likes to record dance songs, she is now more partial towards ballads and mid-tempo songs. She mentioned that a lot of her fans who were use to her older style of music (i.e. "Real Love", "Don't You Want Me") are still getting use to the newer, more soulful Jody.

Rachel went on to recognize Jody for her long and outstanding career in the music industry, and for setting standards in fashion and music during the late 80s with the release of her first two solo projects. Rachel also showed a clip of Jody's Broadway debut performance of "Grease." Then came the question about her posing nude in Playboy

Jody said, "I could give you a hundred reasons for why I did it, but in a nutshell...", it was all about making a statement. She mentioned that the music industry was not always kind to women over 20, and she wanted to prove that she still has it going on: the voice, the moves, the style and definately the body !

She also mentioned that it would be nice to look back on these pictures when she was in her 70s and say "I was the bomb !" And far as things look, she still is the bomb. And she will continue to be a trendsetter and someone who always does it different.

Rakim Hypes Up Off The Hook Single
Picking up where they left off with their ground-breaking collaboration on the hit "Friends", Jody Watley and Rakim once again teamed up for a remix of Jody's current hit single "Off The Hook." The remix version is faster and has a catchy hip-hop beat, and features Rakim doing what he does best. And of course proving why he is the master rapper on the scene today.

Billie Woodruf directed the video for the remix single, which has Jody looking gorgeous, as she prances around on the streets of New York with two very lovely female dancers. The setting is urban, and gritty and showcases Rakim and his posee in top form.

The remix to "Off The Hook" is available on maxi-single, but will also be included on the album "Flower" as a bonus track. And as all you Jody fans already know, "Flower" is due in stores on March 31.
